Reservations & Payments

The fees for field trips are $5 per student, $7 for chaperones, and 1 free adult per 10 students before the field trip if included in the school invoice. If there happen to be any extra students or last-minute chaperones joining your field trip that are NOT part of your school invoice, the following fees apply $5 per student and $10 for chaperones (these are our at-the-gate fees).

You have multiple options for making a reservation. We have a cap of 500 total people for any one day, so please have three dates in mind.

We currently accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express as payment. Payment is due 2 weeks before your field trip date. Payment at the gate will only be accepted with prior approval. We do not provide refunds for absent students or pre-paid adults. Checks made payable to Old City Park must be received 2 weeks before your scheduled field trip. If not payment is received 2 weeks before your visit, your field trip is subject to cancellation.

If your numbers change prior to your payment, we can adjust the invoice accordingly if changes are made at least two weeks prior to the visit. We do not provide refunds for absent students or pre-paid adults. If your numbers are larger than expected, you can pay for the additional students at the gate for our regular admission price ($6). Additional chaperones will be asked to pay gate price on day of field trip.

Any standard field trip can be cancelled with a full refund up to two weeks prior to your scheduled visit. For weather concerns, field trips can reschedule 24 hours before their scheduled visit. Field trips cancelled within 24 hours of their visit due to weather or within two weeks of their visit may not be refunded.

We require a minimum of one adult for every ten students. There is a limit to the number of chaperones, please inquire at reservations@oldcityparkdallas.org.

Yes! We are aligned with social studies and history objectives as well as math, science and reading in most grade levels.

Absolutely! We offer the same student rates ($5) to home schooling groups as we do for other school field trips. One adult per ten students is free and additional chaperones are $7 when booked in advance. Children 4 and under are free. Family groups who do not use our booking service may have to pay full price for their visit at the gate. Please see our reservations area to book today!

Parents & Chaperones should park in our public parking lot, located between Harwood Street and Gano St. Buses must enter from our Harwood St entrance and park at our bus parking to safely unload students. Students will be checked in and enter the Park near the bus drop off.

The Day of Your Field Trip

We begin checking in school groups at 9:45 a.m. Please make sure to gather your students near our Bus Drop Off delivery entrance in our public parking lot for student check-in.

The timed section of your field trip will end at around 11:30 am/12 pm. You are welcome to free roam after your timed section is complete.

Please email reservations@oldcityparkdallas.org to make a guided tour request.

As you tour the Park, you’ll meet staff in historic clothing. Their job is to interact and educate your students.

Picnic tables and plenty of green space are available in Nancy’s Garden. Because we cannot guarantee your group a picnic table, please bring a blanket or tarp for your students to sit and eat their lunch. In case of inclement weather, we will make every effort to find an alternate eating location for your group. We do not have a place to store lunches.

As an outdoor museum, we understand visiting us during inclement weather may not be the best field trip experience. We are open rain or shine, but will be happy to reschedule your group for another day as long as the request is made 24 hours or more before your visit. Simply call the Ticket Office at 214-413-3679 or email reservations@oldcityparkdallas.org to make arrangements to re-book your field trip. If you choose to come, please make sure your students are dressed accordingly.

Cameras are always welcome at Old City Park.  Feel free to tag us on social media!

Our Museum Store is located in our historic General Store on Main Street. We welcome students and visitors in our General Store, but it will only open after your field trip is complete. Space is limited inside, so we may ask your group to wait outside until there’s room.

Old City Park is located off of I-30, just one block south of Farmers Market.
